Personal Finance Update! and Linky-Linky,too.

April 4, 2011

Yikes. What with family visiting and some or all of us running around at the Cincinnati Homeschool Convention and then all of us visiting the Creation Museum I’ve not only broken my cardinal rule of tracking my daily finances I also never got close enough to my computer long enough to even think about posting [...]

You ever have one of those days when you feel like all you do is write checks?

March 24, 2011

Losing Weight and Losing Debt. What can they learn from each other?

March 22, 2011

I ran into an acquaintance the other day I hadn’t seen in months upon months. When I saw her I inwardly gasped: she had lost so much weight!
We were both attending a 31 Gifts Party that was doubling as a fundraiser for our mutual friend who’s raising money to provide a service dog for their special needs daughter.
Got [...]

Personal Finance Linky-Linky

March 9, 2011

I figured out why the links weren’t showing in the Personal Finance Updates post! I did everything the way I always have, but the default settings changed. Go figure. So I changed the settings. Wa-la!
If you didn’t link yours because it wasn’t working — go now! I got it all worked out, I pinky-promise.
And [...]

Numbers are one thing, emotions are another.

March 9, 2011

Or maybe they’re all wrapped up in one? See, now I’ve gotten myself all confused again.

We’re considering renting out our house, something we swore we’d never do.
Some local friends/acquaintances are wanting to move out of the home they are in, for very personal reasons that are none of [...]

I’m so tired of trying to sell this house.

February 21, 2011

That showing scheduled for this morning? Yea. It’s actually tomorrow. My bad. Only it wasn’t. Because the Random Realtor did say Monday. Even Conner backed me up. When I called her (to ask why no one showed) and she said, oh so sweetly, “Oh, Jolyn, did I say Monday? If I did I am soooo [...]

To change realtors, or not to change realtors. That is the question.

February 18, 2011

We recently took our house off the market, for at least a month.
It was a rather spur-of-the-moment decision. Or maybe “in-the-moment” would be a better description. Because we talked about taking it off over the holidays, and then putting it back on in the Spring. We discussed it and talked to people and ultimately decided not [...]
