Financial Update (aka Debt Update) — Come Link Up Yours!

in Personal Finance Updates

We’ve moved out of our house! And our renters have moved in! But we’re still in Ohio — until the kids finish school next week.

Oh, and I’m just a wee-bit tired.

So without further ado:

Debt Balances as of the End of May 2011:

  1. First Mortgage:  $168,091.46
  2. Credit Card Transfer: $21,950.50
  3. Rental Property:  $104,783.76

Total Debt: $295,894.41

This is a difference of -$1,068.69 in principle from the $295,894.41 owed in primary and rental mortgage debt* at the end of April.

*The credit card transfer used to be our second mortgage.

Breakdown of Regular Payments:

  1. First Mortgage: $1641.58
  2. Credit Card Transfer #1: $0 due –> $551.50 paid
  3. Rental Property: $698.00

Total Monthly Payments: $2,891.08

$1822.39 of those payments went toward interest.

I still hate typing that out in black and white.

And now it’s your turn! Grab the button up above for your own post, and link away! (If you are reading this on email, you will need to click through to the blog to view the linky-linky.) Don’t forget to link to your post, not just your blog url. And don’t forget to visit the other links! Let’s all encourage each other along in our financial journeys! Happy number crunching!

Hi Joyln! It’s my first visit here — not sure how I’m just discovering you. I just subscribed. Oh, and I’m from Ohio too!

I like how you’ve included your mortgage totals in your debt payoff above. I’m only tracking my non-mortgage consumer debts right now. I guess I feel like looking at my mortgage debt is too overwhelming, so I have that HUGE ($180,000) debt planned for phase two of my debt ditching efforts.

It’s great to find you!

Good to have you! And normally there are four or five regulars who link their debt/numbers update on these monthly posts. I’m a little concerned about what happened to them this month and plan to go visit them soon… Yes, Dave Ramsey was our inspiration to look ALL our debt in the face. Once we eradicated our consumer/car debt, I still didn’t consider ourselves debt-free! We are currently in the middle (literally) of moving from Ohio to California (I will sorely miss the Ohio trees!) and of all our moves this is the first one that we have been fully financially prepared for! So yea for us!

I like this sharing concept.

Are you in Monterey yet? Did you decide to live in LaMesa or in town. You’ll have a great time there. We liked it so much my wife wants to go back for the PhD program!
