Does Your Man Like To Push Buttons?

I remarked to a friend recently about the phenomenon of how men tend to be into gadgets much more than women.

“Oh, yea.” My friend chimed in right away. “I call them his other women.”

What?

So she goes on to explain how she even gives them names: the TV’s Monique; the cell phone’s Stephanie; Cecelia (the blackberry) usually comes to bed with them…

I was laughing too hard to hear if there were any more. (I’ll have to ask her next time what she’s named the computer.)

“Yea, I need to get myself a nightgown with buttons.”

“With buttons?”

“Yea, so I’ll have some buttons, you know, for him to push, like he does his blackberry.”

I howled some more. Seriously. Have you ever?

The jokes used to be all about men and their remote controls. Now it’s the mouse, and the keyboard, and the crackblackberry…

In our house, it’s definitely the mouse. Though The Hubs isn’t the only one guilty — men just get the brunt of the jokes, poor things.

But The Hubs does have his “Man Cave”…

So tell me… how about your house? Does your spouse (or you) always have to have the latest thing? What buttons does your man like to push?

Oy, now I’m howling again.

Too funny! And soooo true!
I love how you make budgeting humorous, and that you’re honest about where you’re at with your budget.
Great blog.

I’m a Man and a button pusher. The gadget I play with the most would be my phone, the Sprint Hero. I love it and use it all the time. My wife on the other hand is the remote queen. I’ve never seen a person use a remote so efficently. She also has a Crackberry that she is always using too.

I can only dream of having a Man Cave, maybe one day I will.

I think having a Man Cave is one of the pinnacles of manhood. I don’t know what The Hubs will do if he can’t have one the next place we live. He might have to cry a little.
